Ndubuisi Orji, Abuja

Two former national chairmen of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Vincent Ogbulafor and Okwesilieze Nwodo and other members of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) have been named as part of former Vice President, Abubakar Atiku’s campaign for the party’s presidential ticket.

The appointment of Ogbulafor and Nwodo is in violation of an order of the BoT, two weeks ago, which barred members from campaigning for any presidential aspirant.

Another prominent member of the BoT who was named as part of the 60-man nomination council is former Senate chief whip, Stella Omu.

PDP BoT chairman, Senator Walid Jibrin, had recently said “If you are a member of BoT, you remain as a member of BoT and conscience of the party.

They should not move about with any aspirant. If we are really the conscience of the party, we should not move about with aspirant…”

Speaking at the inauguration of the campaign council, yesterday, Atiku said although the task of rebuilding the country is a difficult one, it is one that patriots must engage in in the interest of Nigerians.
