After a successful campaign tour of the 103 wards that make up Ogun East Senatorial District, The African Democratic Congress Senatorial Candidate for the district, Engr (Dr.) Deji Ashiru has  empowered 10,000 people through the EDA  Empowerment Foundation in partnership with Artisans Association of Ogun State on vocational skill acquisition programmes,Train the trainers session among others.
At the three day event that was held in Three federal constituencies namely; Remo , Ijebu North/East/Waterside and Ijebu Central Federal Constituecy recently,  Chairman, Artisans Association of Ogun State, Mr. Anthony Ayodele, thanked Ashiru for his kind gesture to the constituencies and the sense of belonging he gave the artisans.
” Ashiru has done well, assuming others have done this, there would be no need for youth thuggery,” he said.
Ayodele however charged Government at Federal and state levels to build more vocational training centre for youths.
In his remarks, Ashiru admonished beneficiaries to be good ambassadors and strive to better themselves in their choosen profession. ” I plan to empower one hundred thousand people as time goes on,” he said.
In her own submission, African Democratic Congress (ADC), deputy governorship candidate, for Ogun state, Mrs. Oluwakemi Okeowo-Bolade enjoined all to keep faith with the ADC in the forthcoming election and vote for all the candidates for abundant life in Ogun State.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke at the event expressed their gratitude to Ashiru for counting them worthy to benefit in the empowerment initiative, they promised to shun violence and ensure victory for ADC.
Some of the items given out include, sewing machines, head dryers, clippers, electric tools amongst others.
It will be recalled that during Ashiru’s tour, he  installed solar power in Orile Oko and Ojelana,both in Remo North and Ijebu East LGA respectively.
Similarly,the hope of young Eniola Lawal, a JSS 1 pupil of Muslim College Ijebu Ode, to get quality education got a boost during the tour when EDA gave him a one year scholarship.
In addition, Ashiru assisted in no small measure in the electrification of Itumetala Community in Ijebu-Ode just as he provided tables and chairs to Ososa Comprehensive High School in Odogbolu. During his campaign tour, he also graded Ogijo Road, Emuren Road in Sagamu and provided thousands of exercise books to pupils in various local government areas within Ogun East Senatorial District. Eda also provided financially assistance to a family who suffered various degrees of burns from a petrol incident at Makalewo,Ijebu Ode.
