Laide Raheem, Abeokuta

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun,  has assured the residents of Obantoko, Abeokuta axis of the Abeokuta-Ibadan Road, to tackle the gridlock being experienced on the heavily busy road, if elected governor.

Abiodun, disclosed that his administration would work in collaboration with the Federal Government and the private sector, to expand the road in order to save productive hours usually wasted in the road.

The governorship candidate, who gave the assurance, on Wednesday, during his ward-to-ward campaign tour of Odeda Local Government Area of the state, reiterated his commitment towards ensuring that the road, which links two federal institutions in Ogun State with Ibadan in Oyo State, becoming gridlock free.

Addressing the Students’ Union leaders of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Osiele and the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, (FUNAAB) later, Abiodun, who expressed his worry over high number of unemployed graduates, assured them that his administration would embark on massive job creation.

“I am going to use the experience gathered in the private sector and public sector by bringing in more investors both local and foreign into Ogun State, with the main objective to create more jobs.

“I am also determined to create more farm settlements across the three senatorial districts of Ogun State, to train and engage youths in modern farming and agriculture techniques. And this will help greatly in our administration’s plans to start exporting food to the neighbouring states and countries, within one year in office”. Abiodun said.

Responding, the Students Union presidents of FUNAAB and FCE, Popoola Ayobami and Adeoti Segun, respectively, lauded Abiodun for making it a priority to visit their schools.

While pledging their support to Abiodun, the student leaders, called on the governorship candidate to make welfare of students a priority in his government.
