Ogun  State government has promised to collaborate with the Security Trust Fund to provide state-of-the-art communication equipment to complement the recently procured 100 vehicles and 200 motorcycles , to curb crimes in the state. 

Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, gave this assurance during the decoration of newly promoted officers/ launching of the Counter-terrorism and Agro Rangers Unit of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command, Permanent Site, along Kobape, Abeokuta.

The governor, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, said it was not just enough to procure vehicles, but also necessary to put in place  communication gadgets so that the team could work together and provide adequate security.

“The new initiative of the Counter-Terrorism and Agro Rangers Unit of the corps is a very timely one and this shows the foresight of the corps and the adaptability of the corps to provide the security our people need.

Tourism is a very big part of our agenda and the Eco-tourism was one of the fastest growing areas of the world. With this corps supporting us, I think people will be more comfortable to go around and do their business,“ she said.

Governor Abiodun used the occasion to congratulate the newly promoted officers and urged them not to relent in their efforts to secure the state.

On his part, the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), State Commandant, Hammed Abodunrin, assured that everything would be done to ensure adequate protection of lives and property.
