Determined to meet up with the November deadline by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for the take off of the Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia, the Ogun State Government has inaugurated a special committee to give daily on-the-spot assessment of construction work at the site of the new polytechnic, located at Ijaye/Oke-Mbo area of Ipokia.

Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, made this known yesterday while briefing newsmen at the end of the state executive council meeting.

The inauguration, according to Adeoluwa, had become imperative in order for the state government to be able to meet the deadline given it by the NBTE for the commencement of academic activities at the institution.

Flanked by the Head of Service, Mr. Abayomi Sobande, and Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Adedayo Adeneye, the SSG said that the task force, mandated to give on the spot reports daily, would depart for Ipokia immediately noting arrangement had already been made for the task force members accommodation.

Meanwhile, Adeoluwa, at the briefing, informed journalists that the state executive council also approved the relocation of pub and shop owners at the M.K.O. Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta, to the Trade Fair Complex, Oke Mosan in Abeokuta.

This, according to him, was to keep the displaced shop owners in business and noted that their activities would henceforth be regulated by the government.
