Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has called on all governorship candidates of political parties in the just concluded Anambra governorship elections to accept the election result and shun any move that could result in litigations.
In a statement, Secretary General of the apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro urges them to abide by the pronouncements of INEC that the APGA governorship candidate, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, is the winner of the November 6th, 2021 Anambra Governorship election.
The statement further said that the election reflects the people’s verdict and on no account should it be challenged in the tribunal and courts. “There was no evidence of widespread electoral frauds and malpractice, but we commended INEC for conducting free, fair and credible elections in Anambra, we warn against utilizing the Supreme Court to swap the people’s mandate given to Soludo by Anambra people.
“We commended President Muhammadu Buhari for authorizing INEC to be truly independent in carrying out its constitutional duties, without influencing or manipulating negatively the electoral processes in favor of APC which came third in the contest.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo commends the uncommon courage and tolerance of Ndi- Anambra to sustain the visions of the legendary icon, Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu by ensuring that the only way to immortalize him was to ensure that APGA remains the Igbo identity.
” Governor Willie Obiano prompt payment of Anambra workers salaries and welfare benefits is a great model for other states to embrace and have been the secret of the electoral success and victory in November 6th Governorship elections,” this is the verdict of the people and Ndigbo congratulates Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo for the resounding success and victory in this election”.
