Super Eagles defender, Ola Aina was on the score sheet in the Italian Serie A, as Torino beat Udinese 1 – 0 on Sunday.
Aina scored the goal in the 31st minute, which is his first Serie, A goal since joining Torino from London giants, Chelsea. Aina played all 90 minutes of the encounter.
His performance had thus earned recognition, as he was included in Whoscored.com’s Serie A Team of the Week.
The Nigerian international’s 31st minute header secured all three points for the Maroons in a match day 23 fixture against William Troost-Ekong’s Udinese at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.
In a 4-4-2 formation, Aina was deployed in the right side of midfield, with Roma’s Stephan El Shaarawy occupying the left side.
Against Udinese, the Chelsea loanee attempted two shots with both on target, made one key pass, won two aerial duels, was fouled twice and had a passing accuracy of 82.2 percent.
The 22-year-old touched the ball 80 times, and only Cristian Ansaldi racked up more touches than the Nigerian of the 28 players in action.
He also performed well defensively; making three tackles, had a game-high three interceptions and made four clearances over the course of 90 minutes.
