Old Students of Rising Sun High School, Egbe, Lagos, last week, surprised their teachers when they showered them with gifts and acknowledged their contributions in moulding them.

The teachers were given gifts from the first set of students of Rising Sun High School presented as candidates for the May/June 2011 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The gesture was done during the graduation for the 2022 SS3 and JSS3 students, which attracted applause from parents and the current students.

Three representatives of the old students praised the teachers for their impact n their lives from JSS 1 to when they completed their secondary education in 2011.

The former students promised to continue to identify with their alma mate and recalled their six years of secondary education and also as the first set of students. The old students advised the outgoing SS3 students and other pupils to remain focused on their studies.

Responding on behalf of the teachers, Mr. Segun Longe, principal of the school, recalled the old students’ days in Rising Sun High, from JSS1 to SS3.

He said many students of the school were doing well in their chosen careers and appreciated them for remembering their teachers.

The school churned out students who have completed their secondary education and JSS3, who also have completed junior secondary school.

Former chairman, Parent-Teacher Association of the school, Pastor Temidayo Emmanuel, tasked the graduating students to remain worthy ambassadors of the school.

He appreciated parents for their investment on their wards’ education and prayed that the graduating students would do them proud in their chosen careers.

Pastor Temidayo showered encomium on the teachers and assured them that they would reap their reward on earth.

Prizes were presented to outstanding students in various classes.  Also, the students entertained parents with different cultural displays and side attractions.
