The Tinubu Support Group (TSG) has slammed Reno Omokri, former media aide to President Goodluck Jonathan, over remarks he made against the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.

Omokri had tweeted and criticised the N50 million donation Tinubu pledged to assist victims of Katsina State fire incidents, noting that the former Lagos State governor should have started his act of generosity in Lagos before taking it outside.

But the group’s Head of Media and Publicity, Oluwatosin Johnson, in a statement, described Omokri’s remarks as baseless, stressing that his attempt to divide Nigerians would not work.

According to him, ‘Asiwaju is a frontline bridge builder and nationalist who would stop at nothing to do whatever would continue to Foster unity and peaceful coexistence amongst all entities in the country.

‘We believe his support to the people of Katsina at this trying times is worthy of commendation and not condemnation.’

The group charged the general public to ignore such statements and continue to support the efforts of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to unite Nigeria as one strong nation.
