On December 27, 2020 political gladiators and top personalities from all walks of life converged on  Camp Neya, Igbere country home of  former governor of Abia State and Chief Whip of the Senate, Dr. Orji Uzo Kalu to honour his  father (Late Chief Johnson Nesiegbe Uzor Kalu) who passed on to eternal glory in 2010.

Kalu, alongside his wife, Mrs Ifunanya Kalu, matriarch of the Kalu family, Elder (Mrs) Eunice Uzor Kalu and Kalu’s siblings: Hon. Nnanna Kalu and Chief Mascot Kalu, hosted their guests to a lavish reception after  colourful  remembrance service in honour of the deceased led by Prelate of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Most Revd Nzie Nsi Eke.

In attendance were, President Muhammadu Buhari represented by  the Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Chief Uche Ogah ; President of the Senate, Dr.Ahmad Lawan (who was later conferred with the chieftaincy title of Nwannedinamba 1 of Igbere by Igbere Clan Council of Ndi Eze); Governors David Umahi of Ebonyi State; Hope Uzodinnma of Imo state and Ifeanyi Uguwanyi of Enugu State; Science and Technology Minister,Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu; former Senate President , Anyim  Pius Anyim; Senators Abdullahi Sabi; T. A Orji; Eyinnaya Abaribe; Micheal Nnachi; Ya’u Sahabi; Emmanuel Onwe; Nkechi Nwaogu; Chris Adighije; Mr Mohammed Aji; Chief Jack Rich; Chief Alex Otti; Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika; Hon.
