Non-political group, Owo Is One Association [OIOA], has commended Western Nigeria Security Network, Amotekun over the arrest of suspected assailants who on June 5, killed scores over worshipers at St Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State.

National Coordinator of the group, Chief Akinboro Aruwajoye said in a statement on Thursday that the Association is highly impressed with the State Security Network, otherwise known as Amotekun and further tasked the federal government to ensure law and order of the state remains a top priority.

“We have to give a thumbs up to the Amotekun corps led by their Commander,  Adetunji Adeleye for their professionalism and tenacity. The Owo Is One Association commends the gallantry of our Amotekun, and we thank them for a job well done. With this arrest life can start returning to normal as we can start sleeping with our eyes closed.

“We can all see that the work being done by these Amotekun corps is very essential in keeping our community safe. That’s why we are appealing to the government at the centre to allow Amotekun operatives to carry guns and other sophisticated security equipment to match the demands of their responsibility,” he said.

Speaking further, Aruwajoye enjoined the people in the community to be security conscious, adding the job of securing the community should be done by all. 

“We must all be security conscious in all our communities. The people must learn to report any unusual movement and strangers to the law enforcement agents. If we keep on doing this, our community will be more safer,” he said.
