Factional chairman, Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Supo Sonibare, has assured Nigerians that the presidential standard bearer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has what it takes to entrench good governance.

Shonibare, who stated this while addressing journalists on the postponement of the presidential poll which was slated for February 16, in Abuja, appealed to Nigerians not to retain the All Progressives Congress-led Federal government, stressing that it would be disastrous and hellish t do so.

He, also, called on the electorate to take part in the exercise despite the alleged antics by some people to truncate the process.

His words: “The SDP wishes to call on all eligible Permanent Voters Card-carrying electorate across the country not to be deterred by their antics and come out en masse on the election day and vote out this failed government.

“We owe it as a duty to ourselves, our families and unborn generations not to change “into the next level” of hunger, poverty, unemployment and undemocratic tenets, but to vote for a well ‘Atikulated leader who will bring succour and prosperity to our people.”

Meanwhile, the Action Democratic Party (ADP), has knocked its Oyo State gubernatorial candidate, Alao Akala, for asking his supporters to vote for Atiku Abubakar on Saturday.

ADP presidential standard bearer, Yabaji Sani, in a statement by his Director of Media and Publicity, Pam Ibrahim, said that he remains the only credible alternative to take the country to the next level, calling on his supporters to parry Akala’s message.

His words: “We have an irrepressible and well educated, knowledgeable, dedicated, fit, trusted and capable presidential candidate, Engr. Yabagi, Yusuf Sani and his running mate, Prince Martin, Kunle Olateru-Olagbegi in the presidential race and our team is daily winning the hearts of many Nigerians with our campaign strategy that has focused on fundamental issues of governance and development rather the empty slogans of the PDP and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“We, therefore, call on Alao Akala as a matter of urgency to publicly withdraw that endorsement he made on Atiku within next 48 hours or face disciplinary action from the leadership of the party,” he added.
