A former Deputy Comptroller General of Customs, Abubakar Gari Malam and gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Kebbi State, have urged members and all aspirants in the party to team up after primaries to chase away All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state.

Malam, who stated this on Saturday during his visit to PDP Secretariat, Birnin-Kebbi, to declare his intension to contest for governorship seat, also urged delegates and electorate  not to allow power seeking politicians to use money to lure them and buy their conscience.

It could be recalled that Malam, who also contested and lost Kebbi governorship under Democratic Peoples Party (DPP), in 2007, warned PDP executives and supporters that use of money during party primaries and general election was against true ethics of democracy.

“If I won our primary and Court ruled in favour of Col. Sarki, I will surrender my mandate to him. Because, it is only in our cooperation that we could defeat APC and unseat Governor Bagudu.

“Do not allow desperate politicians to use money to buy your conscience. Vote-buying is dangerous to our democratic tenets and rule of law.

While admitting that it would be difficult to unseat the incumbent Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Malam noted that  PDP members,  if they put their party in order and choose credible candidate victory would be ascertain.

”Our cooperation will be enough to defeat them.  If elected as the next Kebbi state Governor, my major priority will focus on how to develop the entire state.
