FC IfeanyiUbah would tomorrow afternoon at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu attempt to hold tight on their league leadership as they confront improved Rangers in what League watchers have dubbed ‘Oriental War’.
The Anambra- based side overthrew the Enugu Antelopes on Wednesday to top the table when they hit visiting Plateau United 2-0, while Rangers shared the spoil with hosts MFM with their 1-1 draw at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.
FC Ifeanyi Uba, now lead the log with 19 points and Rangers having thrown two points away as a result of their draw with MFM, have 18 points to show for their good runs so far.
Speaking ahead of the epic encounter, FC Ifeanyi Ubah midfielder Onyekachi Nwaiwu believes his side can win their first Nigeria topflight title this season. Nwaiwu expressed optimism in IfeanyiUbah FC’s ability to dethrone any team, insisting that Ranger must fall at their own back yard. “We know that Rangers have improved drastically but we are up to the task and i strongly believe that we will come out of the encounter victorious.”
The Anambra based outfit who returned to the Nigeria topflight finished 11th last season despite showing lots of promises at the beginning of the campaign.
