A religious organization, Faith Care Christian Ministry International  partnered with Talent Specialist Hospital to offer free medical services for the less-privileged in Magodo, Lagos.

The outreach was carried out as part of the activities to mark the third year anniversary of the organisation and also a means to provide succour for the less-privileged during the festive season.

The outreach involved free medical checks, donation of drugs, health talks and evengelism.

According to the founder, Felix Akintola, the purpose of the programme is to take care of less-privileged people.

The programme was executed in Hephzibah House , Magodo Lagos., where no fewer than 600 persons were fed and administered medical treatment.

“I graduated from Baptist College of Theology, Lagos in 2019. At that age, I was already well above 60 to 70, I was not a pastor of any church at that age. But besides that, right from the time I was still working, I retired in 2015. When I was working it was already in my heart that I want to serve God in a particular way where I can use my resources to benefit people who are considered under-privileged in the society.

“God has been very faithful to me, I see God’s faithfullness in my life, I rose to the position of Executive Director when I was working and I knew that it was the providence of God and I said God if you has done this for me by making me an instrument that will  impact people’s lives. so it is not a matter of whether I was of age or not, in terms of pastoring the church, God put this Care Ministry in my heart because God cared for me all along, cared for my family, cared for the way my children were trained, they were all miracles of God and I can see God’s hand and I can say God, I want an avenue with which I can also serve you and God made this revelation and said okay, go to Care Ministry Interdenominational.

“It is not Baptist, it is not Catholic, it is not Anglican, anybody that professes Jesus Christ as his Lord and saviour, we partnered together and that has been very helpful.

In fact in the administration where we have services, every Thursday and a minister of God ministers to the congregation weekly  and they come from different denominations and that has been a very marvellous thing that people come under their worship, I have seen that this is a unique thing, it’s not that it’s the same doctrine of any particular church, it’s the doctrine of Jesus Christ and people have been coming from different angles and our faith has been growing. First, it is a matter of faith when I told God Care Ministry is very expensive, God said I will make you strong in your weakness, you think you are weak but I will make you strong and God has been very faithful.”

“We assembled some specialists and medical doctors that attended to people’s needs. We made provision for drugs and they carried out different tests and results were made available immediately because of their sophisticated equipments that they brought.

Speaking on the funding of the programme, he said, ” Care ministry is very demanding both in terms of financial resources and human resources. I must tell you that we have challenges in terms of these two resources- human and financial but God Almighty who called us has solved the problem by making people to partner with us and by also opening doors of financial stability for our own selves.

“I am a lawyer by profession so I have a practice that is going along with what God called us to do and to the glory of God, God opened channels where through my professional calling, I have resources coming in which I also simultaneously deploy to fund this one.

My wife is a self-employed person, she runs a cleaning outfit called ‘Shebron Ajikeke Nigeria Limited’. Because of her conviction in what we are doing, out of her own meagre resources, she put it down and by the grace of God, friends, associates who believe in what we are doing, because they have seen it that it is not that we are running a church, in order to make income. What they are seeing is that we are making impact on the society and the mandate of this commission actually is to go to the lower wrung of the society, impact those people who you can call the under-privileged members of the society and because of this, people who also share that same vision, they have been helping in one way or the other. In terms of human resources, God has deployed to us many  well acclaimed pastors who render services without asking for any renumeration. So in terms of human resources, God has taken care of that very perfectly even more than what we expected.

“We are calling on people of like minds to partner with us, don’t let your possession possess you. We want more people to join us so that we can impact more lives and God will bless everyone that puts a hand in this.”
