 Fred Ezeh, Abuja
Christian leaders from across Nigeria gathered at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja, on Sunday, for an interdenominational prayer service to appreciate God for His awesome love and mercy for Nigeria as it marks its 58th independence anniversary.
The service provided an opportunity for reflection and nostalgic memories of Nigeria and how it has survived several turbulent moments to emerge stronger in unity and diversity.
Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, and Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, led other government officials to the annual interdenominational service.
There were scriptural readings and gospel ministrations that renewed the hope, commitment and patriotism of Nigerians to the Nigerian project.

Vice President, Osinbajo, in his speech, admitted that there might be socioeconomic and political challenges but charged Christians to believe in Nigerian project and ability of God to restore its years of loss.
He used several scriptural versus to justify his conviction that God’s Face is still tilted towards Nigeria and His glory will definitely shine in no distant time.

General Overseer, Deeper Life Christian Bible Church, Dr. Williams Kumuyi, who delivered a  message, regretted that Nigeria has failed to take advantage of its rich and abundant human and natural resources to manifest its greatness.

He appealed to Nigerians to use the occasion of the independence to renew, reconcile, recommit and have rethink on the issues that had, possibly denied Nigeria its rightful place in the comity of developed Nations.
President, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Samson Olusupo Ayokunle, in his remarks, said there was need for Nigeria to appreciate and celebrate God for his obvious love for Nigeria.
Prayer alter was raised for the peace and unity of Nigeria, as well as God’s intervention in the forthcoming 2019 general elections.

  1. Dr Uche Kalu says:

When the Disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ asked
Him to teach them how to pray,Christ started by reminding them that,God knows all their needs. So, in all their prayers they should ask God to grant them their needs. Then Christ went ahead to give his Disciples,”Our
Lords Prayer,” as their model prayer.
What we Nigerians need most and urgently too,in this failed moribund country of ours are, peace, security unity and of course, the rule of law.
But Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and his Fellow
Nigerian Christian Leaders ,in their prayer to God for Nigeria on our 58th Independent Anniversary, failed to ask our Almighty God,what we need most and urgently
    in this country.
Come to think about that ,the threats posed to us Christians in this country ,by President Buhari’s Fulani
alien sojourners of the North and their Hausa/Kanuri mulsim mongrels , continue to hang over our heads like the Sword Damocles.
Of course , as long as the Fulanis and their Caliphate of Sokoto, which is indeed an anachronistic parallel Islamic Republic, within our supposedly Secular Cmmonwealth Republic of Nigeria exists, there will never ever be peace, security, unity and rule of law in this fucking sit-hole country of ours.
Pastor Yemi Osibanjo , his cahoots and cahorts in their prayers to God ought to have asked God to rid us
Native Christian Nigerians, of our barbaric, bellicose and muderous neo-colonialsts overlords , the Fulani
savages of the Caliphate of Sokoto.
The fact must also be established that the Fulanis are nomore Nigerians than the Afrikaans (Boers) are South
    Africans.
Apartheid is nomre in South Africa.
It is about time, the Fulanis be compelled to dismantle
their fucking Caliphate of Sokoto,to abrogate their satanic Sharia, pull the country from our OIC ,C8 and C15 Memberships.
The Troglodytes (Fulanis) must either accept wholeheartedly the Secularity of our Commonwealth Republic of Nigeria or, they should repatriate themselves and their fucking Caliphate to the Saharas of Chad, Ethiopia,Gambia,Mali,Niger,Senegal and Sudan where their fathers originally came from.
No to the status quo ante bellum!
    Down with Hausa/Fulani/Kanuri Islamic Hegemony!!
All Hail Biafra, the Land of the Rising Sun!!!
