Former Ogun State Attorney General and brother to Acting President, Yemi Osinbanjo, Akinlolu Osinbanjo and Festus Keyamo were among 30 successful lawyers conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) by the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC), yesterday.

Also on the list announced by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Hadizatu Mustapha yesterday were former Legal Adviser to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olusola Oke, and the Director General of the Nigerian Institute for Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS), Prof. Adedeji Olusegun Adekunle, who was among the four members from the academia. Other successful lawyers for the prestigious rank in the legal profession include Prof. Enefiok Effiong Essien of the University of Uyo, Prof. Sadiq Slyvester Shikyl of the American University of Nigeria, Yola, and former Director, Nigerian Copy Rights Commission, Prof. Adedeji Olusegun Adekunle.

The only female lawyer on the list, out of the four that applied, is Oluwatoyin Ajoke Bashorun, a Lagos-based legal practitioner. Others are the Kwara State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade, Chibuike Adindu Nwokeukwu; Johnnie Nnemeka Egwuonwu; Bert Chukwuneta Igwilo; Sylvester Emenike Elema; Ikenna Victor Egbuna; Wilcox Achace Aberton; Micheal Abayomi Alliyu and Francis Forum Egele.

The rest are Nasser Abdu Dangiri; Emeka Peter Okpoko; Sani Hussani Garun-Gabbas; Abdul Atadoga Ibrahim; John Olusegun Odubela; Gboyega Sanmi Oyewole; Joshua Yusuf Musa; Ibrahim Sani Mohammed; Ekemejero Ohwovoriole; Oyetola Oshobi; Sulaiman Usman; Kehinde Olamide Ogunwumiju and Chiesonu Igbojamuike Okpoko.

Mustapha further disclosed that the successful lawyers would be sworn-in on a date to be announced in September 2017.
