A teacher in the service of the Osun State Government, Olowookere Abimbola, had been suspended for allegedly defrauding some newly recruited teachers with a pretence to influence their posting.
A statement by the Commissioner for Education, Folorunsho Oladoyin, on Tuesday, stated that the suspect was suspended for defrauding recently recruited teachers to the tune of N30,000.
According to Oladoyin, the suspect has been collecting money from the teachers in Osun East Education District and promised to influence their posting to their preferred school of choice anywhere outside the district.
He warned the new teachers against falling into the hands of deceitful people who demand money or other gratification from them under the guise of influencing their postings.
Oladoyin explained that the first batch of 1,000 teachers recruited will be posted to schools and towns where their services are needed.
He stressed that the posting of the new teachers rests solely with the state  Ministry of Education and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), saddled with the official responsibility of knowing where the teachers are needed.
He, however, warned teachers and other officials of government who are still in the act of collecting money before rendering one service or the other to desist from it or be ready to face the full wrath of the law.
