The newly sworn-in Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ogun State Chapter, Yemi Sanusi, has urged old, new and intending members of the party to come together and strengthen the party structures for future elections.
In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, copies made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, by the Publicity Secretary of Ogun APC Caretaker Committee, Tunde Oladunjoye, quoted Sanusi as saying this shortly after his inauguration as the party’s Caretaker Chairman in the state.
“The doors of the party is now open for intending members who may want to join our party from all the 236 wards in Ogun State.
“Results of recent elections and feedbacks have shown that the APC  remains the most popular party. It is true that success has many relatives and is hard to manage, but I want to assure our people that the proposed registration and revalidation exercise approved by the National Executive Committee (NEC), opens an avenue for more people to join the winning team. We need to unite and come together to strengthen our party for future elections,” Sanusi was quoted to be saying in the statement.
The party chairman was also full of praises for the governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, other leaders and members of the party across the state, who have remained steadfast and faithful to the party despite all odds.
“Our leader, Mr. Governor, has remained the chief promoter and marketer of our party in Ogun State. His sterling performance, that has won him awards recently, is what we are very proud of,” Sanusi stated.
The APC National Caretaker and Convention Planning Committee, had on Friday morning sworn in 37 Caretaker Chairmen for the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, at a brief ceremony held at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
