Oye spoke yesterday at the party’s national convention held in Abuja, where its presidential candidate and running mate were affirmed by members

National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Victor Oye, yesterday, boasted that his party will produce at least eight state governors in 2019.

Oye, who listed some of the states the party will win to include Abia, Imo, Zamfara, Enugu and Nasarawa said the party will spring surprises.

He said with the crisis currently rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), APGA is now the better alternative.

Oye spoke yesterday at the party’s national convention, held in Abuja, where its presidential candidate General John Gbor from Benue State and his running mate, Jerry Chukwueke, were affirmed by members drawn from various parts of the country.

“There is crisis in Zamfara state APC. PDP is not on ground there. It means APGA is the party to beat there. APGA will take over more states in 2019.

“This is the first time we are presenting a presidential candidate in 10 years. We want to give Nigerians hope, confidence and development. Our governor is doing well in Anambra.

“Incoming governors of Nasarawa and Zamfara states will do well too. APGA won the governorship election in Nasarawa state in 2015, but we were shortchanged. This time around, we will not allow anyone to steal our mandate.”

“We are marching to Abia State. We won the election in Abia State. Within one or two hours, they changed the results and stole our mandate. Now the time has come for APGA to take over Abia State.

“APGA will spring surprises in all parts of the country.

In 2015, I said APGA will control a minimum of eight states in 2019. Some people think I am joking. They will watch and see.

“In Imo State too, we will take over. APGA has come to stay. The present leadership of APGA is focused. We are out to build a party that is strong. I want every member to be firm and focused. Big things will begin to happen soon.

“APC and PDP are in a coma. They will soon exit that coma and die. APGA will be there to take its place. We can’t miss this opportunity now,” he stated.
