Oyo State House of Assembly yesterday confirmed 55 nominees as chairmen and caretaker committees of local governments (LGs) and local council development areas (LCDAs) of the state.
However, the plenary presided over by the  Speaker, Michael Adeyemo, rejected the nomination of two persons over issues bordering on certificates and intellectual capacities to administer a local government.
Three among the confirmed nominees are a nephew of Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Alhaji Teslim Ajimobi, for Ibadan South East Local Government; son of former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, Olamijuwonlo, for Ogbomoso North Local Government and son of the immediate past Olubadan of Ibadanland, the late Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade II, Prince Gbade Lana, a former commissioner for Information, for Ibadan North East LCDA.
The unconfirmed nominees are Mr. Mudasiru Agbaje for Irepo Local Government and Adeleke Taiwo for Asabari LCDA in Iseyin. Agbaje, as gathered, was born in 1970 and possesses Advanced NABTEB 2016 as academic qualification and works at Agbaje Petroleum.
In the same vein, Taiwo, according to the report, was born in 1975 and obtained Bachelor of Arts (Ed) in 2013 from Ekiti State University and works as a teacher at Islamic Heritage High School.
Chairman, House Committee on Local Government, Chieftaincy Matters and State Honours, Bolaji Badmos, said the screening was carried out in accordance with the relevant provisions of Local Government Government Law 2001 (as amended).
