“Oyo is the intellectual capital of Nigeria as it is surrounded by higher institutions and best minds and one of our ways to sustain feats in education was the reason for the aforementioned policies and establishment of Universal Basic Education Trust Fund to make more funds available to run education in the state.”
Reacting to news that government banned primary and secondary school students from using phones in school, Ale said, “phones and other gadgets are not barriers to learning but a leverage to improve on their academic development. To achieve a sustainable development in education the phones and other gadgets are relevant.”
He tasked teachers to play major role in imparting positive knowledge in students: “The teachers spent more time with children than their parents and a reason teachers must play role to understand the terrain of teaching to impart requisite knowledge in them as a way to make them better adults tomorrow.
“Part of the roles of teachers are to know individual potentials of their pupils and understand learning approach to make them excel in their studies. The workshop is a starting point. There are arrangements to take the teachers out of the country for training to enhance their capacity building.”
The school principal, Mrs. Helen Alabi, eulogized Ale for his humility and passion for educational development and a reason for noble achievements in motivating teachers to have more passions for teaching. She said he donated two boreholes for the use of students, facilitated electricity supply, good building and other facilities, coupled with his philanthropic gestures.
