The Board of Trustees (BoT) of Oyo State Security Trust Fund (OYSTTF) has disclosed plan to build an Emergency Telephone Centre to aid security in the state. The board also assured security agencies in the state of necessary support towards securing lives and properties of the citizens.

Secretary of OYSTTF, Mr. Femi Oyedipe, who gave the assurance in Ibadan yesterday, said the board, under the leadership of Chief Bayo Adelabu, the Deputy Governor, Operations, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), resolved at its last board meeting to always come to the aid of security agencies towards improving security in the state.  

Oyedipe, quoting the chairman, Adelabu, said the board was aware of the shortfall from the Federal Government to security agencies, adding that the board has aligned with the existing programmes of Governor Abiola Ajimobi in ensuring that security of lives and property remains a cardinal point of the government.

He said: “The board will do all it can do to assist security agencies. The board will, in due course, arrange funds from its partners to buy patrol vehicles and repair the existing ones which are in bad shape in order to ensure that security agencies perform their primary functions without hindrance.

“The chairman of the board is already talking to some corporate organisations with a view to partnering the Trust Fund in providing street lights in some areas and resuscitating some existing ones. Also, the board has approved for immediate repairs most of the vehicles belonging to some security agencies in the state in order to increase mobility. 

“We will also build an Emergency Telephone Centre in the State for rapid response to security related issues. We will equally assist the State and the citizens in providing enabling environment for flow of investment and peaceful co-existence of all and sundry.
