The Oyo State Signage and Advertising Agency (OYSAA) has sealed 50 billboards in Ibadan metropolis, said to be illegal, unapproved.

The action was carried out during the just concluded two-day enforcement exercise personally led by the agency’s Director General, Pastor Yinka Adepoju.

He said the areas where the billboards were sealed included Mokola, Challenge, Toll Gate, and Ring Road, warning that the next enforcement exercise would focus on the outdoor advertising outfits that received approval of OYSAA, but failed to to pay their bills.

He enjoined outdoor advertising operators in the state to come to the agency and regularise their unapproved structures or forfeit them to the agency.

Adepoju noted that the agency has succeeded in change the face of outdoor advertising practice in the state through innovative ideas that have added values to the aesthetics of the environment.

The OYSAA boss also urged advertising practitioners in the state to abide by the rules of regulations guiding outdoor advertising in the state, adding that the agency has contributed immensely to the internally generated revenue of the state since it was established in 2012.
