Parents tasked on quality education for wards

By Paul Erewuba

Proprietress of Cedec International Schools, Apapa, Lagos, Dr. Ijeoma Unachukwu, has urged parents to insist on quality education for their wards, saying it is the only way to secure their future.

She made the remarks last Friday during the school’s first graduation ceremony at its Lekki campus in Lagos.

Unachukwu, who thanked God for the feat the school had achieved so far, also appreciated the entire workforce of the institution.

She noted that the management of the school has ensured, over the years, that only qualified teachers were recruited to teach in both the primary and secondary arms of the school, a policy which she said should be the hallmark of schools across the country.

She said the school would continue to harp on quality education, even as the students were impacted with moral values that would make them responsible adults and good citizens of Nigeria.

“One thing going for us in CEDEC is that we don’t compromise standards. We have qualified teachers in both our primary and secondary arms. Our mission is to help raise the standard of education in the country in line with our motto which is ‘Knowledge Powered by Technology’.

Unachukwu said the school’s management plans to open new campuses in other parts of Lagos to bring quality and affordable education to the door steps of Lagosians.

The Lekki campus, had at the July 14 graduation ceremony, awarded the First School Leaving Certificate to 40 pupils.
