The spokesman of the Coalition of United Political Parties ( CUPP), Ikenga Ugochinyere, has called Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) National Executive Committee ( NEC) to sack the national chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu and the national secretary, Samuel Anyanwu.
Ugochinyere, in a statement, on Friday, said the exit of the two party leaders is essential to enhance the unity of the PDP ahead of the 2023 polls.
This is coming on the heels of the withdrawal of the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike and his supporters from the PDP presidential campaign, insisting on the replacement of Ayu as national chairman.
Ugochinyere, who is also the PDP candidate for Ideato Federal Constituency of Imo State, said there is need to ensure that the opposition  party wins  the South in next year’s elections.
“I call on the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to press it on chieftains of the party and Ayu on the need to save the party from further polarisation and loss of our base in the South.
“This can be achieved by ensuring that PDP National Chairman,  Senator Ayu quits the party now alongside the National Secretary, Anyanwu,” he stated.
