Chairman, Board Of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Walid Jibrin, has said that leaders of the party has not formed any alternative political platform.
In a statement issued, on Tuesday, in Abuja,  the BoT chairman said before any decision to form a new political party is reached,  all the relevant organs and interest groups in the party will be duely consulted.
A national daily last Sunday had reported that PDP chieftains loyal to the party’s National Caretaker Committee are the brains behind a yet to be registered political party,  Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA).
However, Jibrin expressed confidence that the Supreme Court would take a fair and unbiased decision in the party leadership tussle currently before it.
The caretaker committee led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi is currently challenging an Appeal Court judgment that declared Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, the “authentic” national chairman of the PDP, at the apex court .
The statement read: “The attention of the PDP BoT has been drawn to series of publications alleging that PDP has dopted a particular political party just newly registered as its fall back position . “I want to make it very clear that PDP has never formed any alternative party. If it has to agree on something like that all organs and fora of the party viz BoT,National caucus, PDP Governors Forum, National Assembly caucus , PDP state chairmen forum,Former Ministers Forum, Former Governors Forum, various youth fora , elders forum nation wide, women’s forums etc will be fully consulted before such sensitive decision is taken.
” For now, I want to assure our teeming supporters that PDP accepts the judicial processes going on at the Supreme Court and that we are very confident that the Supreme Court shall freely and independently take fair decision which will be historic in Nigeria’s democracy.”
The BoT chairman appealed to members of the party across the country to remain calm, as the party leaders will inform before any sensitive decision on the PDP is taken.

“We remain resolute,  united and absolutely loyal to the party and remain committed to following all legal process in order to redeem the image of our party as anything not built on truth will fail and falsehood will crush .
” Any child that does not allow his mother to sleep he too will never sleep. I want to further assure our members and supporters that we shall keep them informed of any development before any action is taken,” Jibrin stated.
