FORMER Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani- Kayode, has endorsed the aspiration of Spe­cial Assistant on Public Communications and New Media to Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, Lere Olayinka, to become the national publicity secretary of Peoples Democratic Par­ty (PDP).

Fani-Kayode took to his Twitter handle, @re­alFFK at exactly 7:06 am yesterday to express his preference for Olayinka.

He tweeted: “I wish to express my support for Olayinka for the position of national publicity sec­retary of the PDP. Lere will do an excellent job.”

Fani-Kayode was earli­er rumoured to be inter­ested in the position un­til he denied it through his Facebook page.

Also, it was posted on Facebook that former Ondo State information commissioner, Olorogun Eddy Olafeso and Ogun State born Segun Sowun­mi who earlier declared interest to contest the party’s national publicity secretary have declared support for Olayinka.

Olafeso is now being positioned for the posi­tion of South-West na­tional vice chairman of the party.

The PDP members in the United States of America had in a let­ter dated May 4 and ad­dressed to the party’s National Chairman, Sen­ator Ali Modu-Sherrif endorsed Olayinka, say­ing: “Olayinka’s loyalty to the party is highly com­mendable and for these reasons and many more, PDP-USA is endorsing him for the position of publicity secretary to PDP-Nigeria.”
