The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC),on Tuesday, met with the minority leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, and leaders of the caucus.

The opposition party’s NWC had last week lifted its suspension on Elumelu and six in the connection to the crisis that rocked the minority caucus in the Green chamber, shortly after the inauguration the ninth assembly in 2019.

The PDP National chairman, Uche Secondus, who presided over the meeting charged the minority and other members of the opposition party in the House to defend the interest of the masses.Secondus noted that Nigerians were looking unto the PDP for succour.

According to him, “The essence of this meeting is to reiterate the lifting of the suspension. Nigeria is in dire straits now and the needs a viable opposition in the House of Representatives.

“You must therefore speak with one voice on all issues. The economy is collapsing and there are a lot of security challenges facing the country. This is the time Nigerians needs you the most and we must rise up to defend their interest”.

Elumelu, who spoke on behalf other members of the caucus, pledged to ensure that the opposition is reinvigorated in the Green Chamber. He stated that with the resolution of the minority crisis, the caucus is set for the challenges ahead.

“With the lifting of this suspension, we are one, united in the PDP family. We will do everything possible to provide the opposition that the PDP believes in, so that come 2023, we will be taking over the leadership of this country,” the minority leader later told journalists.
