Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has felicitated with the Chairman of its National Caretaker Committee, Senator Ahmed Makarfi on the occasion of his 61st birthday.
In a statement issued yesterday by its National Publicity Secretary, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, the PDP said it was proud of Makarfi’s achievement as one of its foundation members.
The opposition party said the PDP leader, who turns 61 today, has continued to make outstanding contributions to the development, noted that his two tenure as governor of Kaduna State was characterised by peace.
According to the statements, Makarfi”was elected two times as Governor of Kaduna State from 1999 – 2007 under the platform of our party, the PDP. It is worthy of note that under his administration, his state witnessed relative peace that allowed the translation of his policies and programmes into concrete dividends of democracy for his people.”
It further stated:” We are indeed proud of his strong character and achievements as one of the Foundation Pillars of the PDP, working with all stakeholders to revive, rejuvenate, and move the Party to greater heights.
“We cannot forget his calculative, dogged and purposeful leadership direction in the Just concluded intra-party leadership litigation processes which ultimately culminated in resounding victory for the party.
“We join other Nigerians in thanking God Almighty for His faithfulness in our National Chairman’s life as he marks his Birthday. We pray that the Almighty continue to guide and guard him and his entire family, and grant him many more years of continued services to this nation and mankind. “
