Careta ker Committee chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ahmed Makarfi, said his leadership is taking time to reconcile all aggrieved members of the party.

Makarfi, former two-term governor of Kaduna State noted that the party, in the process of reconciliation, needs prayers in order to get results in the reformation of the party.

Markafi, who stated this yesterday in Kaduna said since his nomination, he has made substantial progress in the task of reconcilling aggrieved members of the party.

“We need prayers in order to get results in the reformation of the party, because you know there are sharp divisions. Rome was not built in a day. So, this is not a one-day venture.

We will continue to reconcile all aggrieved parties. We’ve made substantial progress, we hope to make total progress, that is what we are working at so that we can have one family, before we can start taking some far reaching decisions, as we do not want to take decisions that will excluded some members of the family.

“That is why we are taking time our to reconcile first, before we do any other thing,” he said.

As part of ongoing reconciliation efforts, Bayelsa State governor Seriake Dickson and former Jigawa State governor Alhaji Sule Lamido over the weekend held a two-hour closed-door meeting in Bamaina town, Jigawa State.

Speaking shortly after their meeting, Dickson who is also chairman, reconciliation committee of the party said he was in Jigawa to seek support from an elder of the party.

He described Alhaji Sule Lamido as one of the founders and elders in the party who can play a vital role to resolve the lingering crisis in the party.

“We are in Jigawa State as members of the reconciliation committee of the PDP to meet with our elder, Alhaji Sule Lamido, and discuss possible solution to the recent misunderstanding among our party members.

We all know that our party, PDP, is in crisis of leadership and we believe that Lamido can intervene as a father to end the crisis,” he said.

According to him, the committee also met the PDP leadership in North west headed by Ambassador Ibrahim Musa Kazaure reached a fruitful resolution.
