The results trickling in suggests a huge PDP resurgence in Adamawa as its candidate, Ahmadu, Umaru Fintiri, is in early lead after the announcement of results of 18 of the 21 local governments in the state.

The polls result however shows that the contest is between the Bindow-led ruling APC and the Fintiri-led PDP.

The PDP candidate, Fintiri, has continued to gain significant votes in places considered APC stronghold, mounting a huge comeback for the PDP in a state it lost in 2015 after holding sway for about 16 years.

With just three local governments left, it is becoming clear that PDP might form a government in Adamawa and a new face might soon take over the Adamawa Dougirei seat of power.

The state returning, Professor Haruna Dahiru, the Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Gashua, presented the following results
