Peoples Democratic Party( PDP) National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, has inaugurated a campaign team to work for the victory of the opposition party, in Imo State, in the 2023 general elections.
The campaign, team, christened Divine Mandate Movement, which has its members drawn from the 27 local government of Imo State, is expected to mobilize support for all the PDP candidates in the next general elections.
Anyanwu, while addressing the members of the campaign team, said the objective is to rescue the country from the alleged misrule of the All progressives Congress ( APC).
The PDP scribe charged members of the campaign team to ensure the opposition party wins the presidential election in Imo, as well as the three senatorial, 10 House of Representatives, 27 state assembly seats in the state, and ultimately regain control of the governorship seat in 2024.
According to him, “More than ever before, duty beckons on all of us, the almighty God has placed a divine task on your shoulders. We shall never surrender to oppressive forces, but remain firm mustering and marshalling out with highest sense of patriotism to secure the destiny of our people. It is against this backdrop that we are here to re-energise the Divine Mandate Movement to effectively carry out its mandate of mobilizing Nigerians, particularly in Imo State for all PDP candidates for all positions in the 2023 general elections.
“Our mission is focused on massively mobiliziing for our presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, our vice presidential candidate, who is also our brother, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, our House of Representatives candidates, our senatorial candidates and state assembly candidates.”
On his part, the Director general of Divine mandate Movement Ngozi Ogbu, expressed optimism that with the calibre of people in the campaign team, the organisation will achieve its objective.
Ogbu added that the campaign group will effectively carry out it’s mandate of mobilizing the people of Imo State to vote all PDP candidates in the 2023 general elections, as well as ensure the overall victory of the PDP in the 2024 governorship poll.
