The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won 14 out of the 24 seats of the Plateau State House of Assembly, while the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) won eight seats in last Saturday’s governorship and state assembly elections in the state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Head of Voters Education and Publicity, Mr. Osaratin Imahiyereobo, in a press statement, said supplementary election would be conducted in four polling units in Langtang South constituency.

He noted that a by-election would be conducted in Pengana constituency, where a member-elect died few hours after his victory at the polls.

Meanwhile, the APC has  said it will not take the supplementary election which will determine winner of the governorship election in the state for granted.

Deputy Director Media and Publicity Committee of the (APC) Campaign Council,  Festus Fuanter, said this  yesterday, while briefing journalists in Jos, the state  capital.

He  said despite the fact that APC is leading with over 40,000 votes, the party will not relax over the polls.

INEC declared the governorship election in Plateau State inconclusive and, therefore, ordered for supplementary election.

The result declared by the State Returning Officer, Professor Richard Anade, showed  that APC got a total vote of 583,255, while the PDP candidate scored 538,326.  Fuanter, who is also the state Commissioner for Land and Survey,  said they are working hard to poll more votes to remain top in the election.
