The All Progressives Congress (APC) Plateau State has won 14 out of the 24 Plateau House of Assembly seats while the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has won 8.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Head of Voters Education and Publicity, Mr. Osaratin Imahiyereobo, in a press statement said the supplementary election would be conducted in four polling units in Langtang South constituency.
He noted that a by-election would be conducted in Pengana constituency where a member-elect died a few hours after his victory at the polls.
Meanwhile, APC said it would not take the supplementary election which will determine the winner of the governorship election in the state for granted.
The Deputy-Director, Media and Publicity Committee of the (APC) Campaign Council, Barrister Festus Fuanter, who disclosed this on Tuesday while briefing journalists in Jos, said despite the fact that APC was leading with over 40,000 votes, the party would not relax over the polls.
Barr. Fuanter who is also the state Commissioner for Land and Survey, said they are working hard to poll more votes to remain tops.
“The victory of APC so far is not a surprise to us because Governor Simon Lalong in the past four years has performed to the admiration of many.
He called on the public and the supporters of the APC in the State to remain calm and law-abiding as according to him, the victory of the APC would only be delayed and can never be denied.
