Plateau United, yesterday ended the 2017 league season on a glorious note with an emphatic 2-0 home victory over Rangers inside a packed Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos.

The Jos side with the win emerged champions of the league for the 2017 season, a feat they were achieving for the very first time.

The Kennedy Boboye – tutored team also pocketed a prize money of N50m.

Shooting Stars and ABS FC were relegated to the lower Nigeria National League (NNL) alongside Gombe United and Remo Stars.

Shooting Stars lost 2-0 at Niger Tornadoes to finish 17th on the log with 50 points, while ABS FC lost 1-2 at Nasarawa United to end the campaign in 18th place, also on 50 points.

Gombe were 19th with 43 points after their loss at home to bitter local rivals Wikki Tourists.

Remo Stars on their part were doomed for a return to life in the lower league several weeks ago. They finished rock bottom with 30 points.
