The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Plateau State on Saturday inaugurated Atiku/Mutfwang campaign council to deliver the presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, the Governorship Candidate, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang and all PDP candidates in the state.
The Campaign Council was changed to work inclusively with all stakeholders of the party in the state and ensure that PDP wins all elections in Plateau.
The State Governorship Candidate, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang who inaugurated the campaign council said he will lead the campaign in Plateau to deliver from the presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar to the State House of Assembly candidates.
Mutfwang explained that the campaign will be operation deliver your polling units for all PDP candidates in the state.
“I want to state crystal clearly that I will be leading the PDP family on the Plateau as I have always done, to vigorously campaign for all our candidates from the Wazirin Adamawa, Atiku Abubakar to the State House of Assembly members.
“I expect every genuine Party faithful to join me because we shall run only one united Campaign structure. We must eschew all divisive tendencies and unite under the tested symbol of the umbrella.
“It is under this regime that Nigeria became one of the poverty capitals of the world. This APC led government has failed disastrously in the most basic responsibility of protecting its citizens and their properties.
“The only part of the economy that has tremendously flourished is the kidnapping sector which today generates billions of Naira for the key players and their protectors. This is our sad reality! This is why our people have been yearning for a genuine change under an alternative platform.
“The PDP is that desired platform for the revival of the hope that Nigeria and indeed Plateau State will be great again! I therefore call on all who are still in the valley of indecision or have boarded their own ship to Tarshish to abdicate contributing to our success, please come back to Nineveh! It is Time to arise and join this liberation train.” He stated.
The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Plateau State, Hon. Chris Hassan said the inauguration of Atiku/Mutfwang Campaign Council mark the beginning of taking over of government in Plateau and Nigeria.
He explained that the first assignment the party has is the enthronement of a PDP government that will reclaim and rebuild Plateau for the prosperity of the people.
Hassan said the campaign for the five elections have been collapsed into one in Plateau with the mandate to deliver the Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar with more than N2 million votes and Caleb Mutfwang, the Governorship Candidate alongside, Senatorial, House of Representatives and State Houses of Assembly candidates.
“Our campaign structure has been collapsed into one to deliver Atiku Abubakar, Governorship candidate, Caleb Mutfwang, all the Senatorial, House of Representatives and State Houses of Assembly candidates because Plateau is PDP and PDP is Plateau.”
He tasked all members of the PDP to ensure that they deliver their polling units for the PDP and put aside any form of grievances and work inclusively for the party ahead of the 2023 election.
Former Governor of Plateau State, Sen. Jonah David Jang, represented by former Minister, Water Resources, Hon. Sarah Ochekpe said the campaign would be top bottom.
He called for the unity of the party at all levels, saying that Nigerians have being yearning for the return of PDP to power and that 2023 present the party a better opportunity to take over governance.
Former Nigeria Ambassador to Switzerland, Yahaya Kwande reiterated the need for the party to move into the election as a united front.
The Director General of Atiku/Mutfwang Campaign Council, Hon. Latep Dabang said the inauguration mark the beginning of the funeral rites of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau and Nigeria which has inflicted untold hardship on the citizens.
He said the campaign council will work inclusively, begining with a thank you tour and sensitization across the 17 Local Government Areas of Plateau State to deliver all PDP candidates from the presidential to the State House of Assembly candidates.
