Plateau State Government has expressed gratitude to God for the recovery of Chief of Staff to Governor, Hon. Noel Donjur from the dreaded COVID-19.

Hon. Donjur had tested positive to the virus some weeks back and he was placed on isolation for treatment purposes following the protocols as it affect COVID-19 as outlined by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.

Commissioner for information and Communications, Hon. Dan Mangjang in a statement said his result has tested negative after treatment.

Manjang confirmed that the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Nimkong Ndam Lar said Hon. Donjur was asymptomatic.

“The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Plateau state, Hon. Noel Donjur has tested negative from Corona virus. It will be recalled that some weeks back, Hon. Donjur had tested positive to the virus which led him to go into isolation for treatment purposes.

“The government of Plateau State hereby wishes the Chief of Staff sustainable good health and gives God the glory for showing him great mercy.

“Let me reiterate that COVID-19 is real and it is not a death sentence. I therefore, wish to appeal to the public to avail themselves for the test. They should exploit government benevolence of taking over the bills and treatment of those whose test has turned positive.

“Government frowns as those stigmatizing persons that have been infected and warns that they should desist from such act. Rather we should be our brothers’ keepers by standing by them under thick and thin.”

He called on workers in the state to avail themselves for the test as report reaching them that some people have circumvented the exercise.

“Government frowns at this behavior and views it as not only an affront but an act of disrespect to authority.

“The Head of Service has been duly directed to deal with the matter administratively and that will include sending such recalcitrant staff to an isolation centre for the stipulated period of 14 days.”
