Palpable tension enveloped some parts of Jos, capital of Plateau State,  as political parties, security agencies and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),  postponed meeting meant to resolve controversy trailing the cancellation of election results in Tudun-Wada/Kabong Federal ward  till today.

The meeting which started on Monday night at the INEC Headquarters, Jos was postponed to yesterday.

This was  with a view to resolve the issues and announce the election for Plateau North and Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC, Mallam Husseini Halilu Pai, who called for the meeting, did not give any reason for the postponement of the meeting.

However, supporters of the two contending political parties, All Progressives Congress, (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), who stormed Jos North collation centre, venue of the meeting in anticipation that the result would  be announced were disappointed.

The delay in the announcement of the election results has generated tension in Jos South, Jos North and Bassa Local Government areas where voters were anxiously waiting the declaration of the result.

State Chairman of PDP, Damishi Sango,  assured party members that the result for Plateau North would not be announced until the results for Tudun-Wada/Kabong ward were added to the whole results.

Meanwhile, Dachung Musa Bagos of the PDP polled 117, 114 votes to defeat Pam Dongs of the APC who scored 37,617 for Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency.
