Police uncovers corpse of missing person in shallow grave
From TONY JOHN, Port Harcourt
Rivers State Police command has arraigned six persons before a Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt on two counts bordering on alleged economic sabotage, forgery and printing of affidavit/ public document racketeering.
The suspects, Gift Godwin, Esther Monica-Sylvester, Virasi Gbarabe, Irene Anthony, Comfort Jude and Mary Effiong were alleged to have been carrying out the act around the premises of the court along Station Road, Port Harcourt.
According to the charges, the activities of the suspects were causing loss of revenue to High Court, which is an offence punishable under section of Criminal Law of Rivers State.
Court  said that the arrest of the suspects, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, was the effort of the administrative officers of High Court of the state.
Presiding Chief Magistrate, Omonigha Nwibani, after listening to counsel representing the parties on bail application, adjourned till  February 14, 2023, for bail consideration.
Chief Magistrate Nwibani, thereafter, directed that the suspects be remanded in Port Harcourt Correctional Center till next adjourned date.
Meanwhile, since the inception of the administration of Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Simeon Chibuzor-Amadi, several persons have been arrested and charged to court for the same offence.
