The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two men, Oke, 28, and George, 25, for allegedly gang-raping a 23-year-old lady.

The police said that the suspects allegedly drugged the lady before they took turns to rape her.

According to the police, apart from abusing the lady sexually, the suspects also videod the lady while sexually abusing her.

Lagos State police public relations officer (PPRO), Chike Oti, said that the case was being handled at the gender section of the command.

Oti said the unit was  investigating a case of rape reported against Oke and George of Dallankester Hotels, Lekki Phase 1.

According to him, the duo allegedly took the lady to a club on Saturday, February 2, with the intention of molesting the victim, who did not suspect that the suspects had ulterior motives.

“While at the club, they mixed the young woman’s drink with sedative substance that made her weak and almost unconscious.

“Satisfied that the drug was beginning to affect her, they quietly left the club with her to Dallankester Hotels in Lekki Phase 1, belonging to George’s father. At the hotel, they took turns to rape her. As if that wasn’t enough, they videotaped the abuse,” he said.

Oti said that when the victim woke up from the induced sleep, she confronted the suspects who denied having carnal knowledge of her.

However, not satisfied, the lady called her elder brother and complained that she had been violated.

“The brother immediately invited policemen from Maroko Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Isah Abdulmajid, to the scene. On searching the suspects, the DPO recovered their phones and went through their video recordings, where he saw a video of the suspects sexually abusing the apparently unconscious victim.

“The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Edgal Imohimi, has directed the gender section of the command to investigate and diligently prosecute the suspects to serve as deterrent to others,” he said.
