The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a notorious wanted Boko Haram suspect, Muhammad Adamu Nafiu, at Tama village, in Toro Local Government Area of the state.
The 25-year-old suspect, who hailed from Ballanga in Gombe, police said, relocated to Tama village to evade arrest, after the deadly sect was dislodged by troops at Sambisa forest.
The commissioner of police, Bauchi State Command, Garba Baba Umar, disclosed in a press release, that preliminary investigation showed that the suspect was among those declared wanted by the Nigerian Army.
Umar disclosed that Nafiu had voluntarily confessed to have killed over 150 people in Baga Local Government Area of Borno State.
“The case is under investigation after which suspect would be handed over to the appreciate authority,” he said.
The commissioner of police, in the release also disclosed that his command, in collaboration with the military, had arrested a notorious thug popularly known as Sarasuka for allegedly causing grievous harm.
He said: “The suspect used a sharp knife to cut off the hand of one Abdulaziz Mohammed, of Gombe Road Bauchi, who is also alleged to be a Sarasuka member.”
