An  Inspector serving in Jigawa State Police Command is in trouble. He allegedly threatened one Ibrahim Sabo, a farmer in Hausawa village, Shuwarin Kiyawa Local Government Area to part with N300,000.00 or he would kill him and his son, who is into Achaba business.
Sabo told Daily Sun: “Last Friday, one man phoned me threatening to kill me and my son, unless I bring N300,000.00 to him in a bush. I didn’t commit any crime. I was confused, but looking for how to raise the money. When my daughter, who lives in Adamawa State visited me. I narrated my ordeal and she asked me to report the matter to the police, which I did, at Shuwarin station.
“They gave me some policemen who asked me to package the money and went to see him.
“Then, I was attached with some policemen, we went to the place we arranged to meet. The man who is a policeman, he went to where I kept the money. As  he was about to take it, he was arrested and taken to Dutse Divisional Police Office”, he narrated.
Sabo said he had to sell two of his cows and his farm to raise the money. “When I sold two of my cows I realised only N250,000.00,  then, I had to sell my farm to make up for the amount”.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) , Mr  Abdul Jinjiri  a Superintendent, confirmed the arrest of a man who allegedly attempted defraud a Fulani man of N300,000.00”.
He said even though the details of the case had not been reported to the headquarters yet, but the matter is being investigated.
