Police in Fegge Onitsha, Anambra State, have arrested three suspected armed robbers Chinemerem, Osita, Chibueze (surnames withheld) who robbed one Nebolisa of his Tecno phone worth N45, 000 at Bishop Shanaham street, Fegge.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Fegge, Mr. Garba Rabiu, a Superintendent of Police, who confirmed the report, said the robbers inflicted the victim with wounds before robbing him of his phone.
He said they were arrested when the victim raised the alarm and attracted the attention of the policemen on patrol who went after them and arrested three persons while others escaped.
The DPO said one of the robbers was identified as a hardened criminal who has been terrorising the area, calling on members of the public to volunteer information on the activities of criminals in the area.
He said the suspects have been charged to Magistrate Court for armed robbery under section 495 (a) of the criminal code, cap 36 vol.II, revised law of Anambra state of Nigeria 1991 and section 364 of the Criminal code, cap 36, vol. II revised laws of Anambra 1991.
