The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced a special promotion for Mr Daniel Itse Amah, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) who rejected a $200,000 bribe, to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).

The police officer was also awarded the sum of N1 million by the PSC as encouragement for maintaining the integrity of the police.

Amah, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Nasarawa Division in Kano State, was on the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) before he was promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) two months ago.

The new ACP was recently honoured with the 2022 Public Service Integrity Award by President Muhammadu Buhari during the fourth National Summit on Diminishing Corruption in the Public Sector convoked by the Independent Corruption Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in collaboration with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) and the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Justice Clara Bata Ogunbiyi, a retired Justice of the Supreme Court, said Amah represents the integrity and good character of a deserving Police officer.

She also said the reward and special promotion would serve as a morale booster for all police officers to keep doing the right thing always.
