• 11 suspects arrested

Twelve hostages, including rural women have been rescued from kidnappers at Falgore Forest, the police said in Kano yesterday.
The victims breathed the air of freedom last Tuesday after a gun battle between officers of the Nigeria Police Anti-Kidnapping Unit and the kidnappers.
Police Commissioner, Rabiu Yusuf, who disclosed this during a briefing, gave the names of the rescued victims as Bello Saleh and Muhammad Sani, all of Rafin Kura village in Doguwa Local Government Area.
He said others include Halima Saidu Doguwa, Rabi Isah ,  Amos Yakubu  and  Jacob Ibrahim  all of Doguwa Local Government Area.
According to the him, they also include Hajara Yakubu of Kasara Village , Maimuna Abubakar of Hayin Kaduna,  Sule Maigoro of Hayin Bauchi , Ibrahim Umaru of Gomo Village  Musa Idi of Diwa Village and Ibrahim Hamisu of Falgore village.
He said 11 suspects were apprehended by the police consequent upon the operation, adding that some of the suspects escaped from  the forest with bullet wounds.
Some of those arrested include Bello Bello Shano, Dabo Ibrahim, Lawal Shuabu, Adamu Abubukar  and Nura Salisu, he stated.
He explained that exhibits recovered in the Falgore Forest Camps include one AK 47 rifle, two fully loaded magazines, 250 rounds of live ammunition, eight Bajaj Boxer magazines criminal masks, personal belongings and some quantities of dry leaves suspected to  be Indian hemp.
