Suspected members and sympathisers of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) otherwise called Shi’ites reportedly clashed with security operatives in Abuja on Wednesday.

It was gathered that the security operatives used tear gas to disperse the protesters who were demanding for the release of detained leader of the group, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky.

The police also blockaded the road to prevent the protesters from passing through. Some of the protesters were reportedly arrested by the police.
