The turnout of voters in Kebbi State during the governorship and houses of assembly elections were impressive as voters conducted themselves peacefully, Sunday Sun observed.

Voters at different polling units in Birnin-Kebbi arrived at various voting points as early as 7:30am waiting for electoral officers to arrive.

Speaking with Sunday Sun at Garkar Magatakarda polling unit 008, Supervising Officer at the Centre, Abubakar Danlami Warah, confirmed that the INEC officers have been at the centre since 6am.

He noted that everything at the centre have been peaceful, stressing  that there was no crisis, with card readers and other materials working effectively.

At Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu’s polling unit, Nasarawa polling unit, Mai Alelu 006, voting started at about 8am.

Speaking with Sunday Sun, Alhaji Balarebe Abdulmumin, Executive Secretary of SUBEB, noted that it was too earlier to judge voter turnout, saying that many people are still coming out to vote.

At Augie, the home town of PDP Governorship candidate, Senator Isa Galaudu, voters turned out in impressive numbers to cast their votes peacefully.

Galaudu, who cast his vote at about 8:30am at the Augid North polling unit refuted rumours in some quarters that he had stepped down as the PDP governorship candidate in the state.
