The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the February 23 presidential election as a new low in the country’s political history.

The PDP stated this in its immediate reaction to the declaration of President Muhammadu Buhari as the winner of the poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, who spoke on behalf of the party, told journalists at the International Conference Center, Abuja, venue of the collation of the presidential result, that the election is tainted, owing to alleged infractions.
He said: “We believe that the cancellations that took place in the election impacting 2.7 million require to be looked into seriously. So, in our view, this election requires to be looked at again and possibly we would have had reruns.

“More importantly, we think the INEC should have looked consciously to the issue of the card reader. Because the absence of the card reader is a major violation of the election. It renders that election null and void. That was what the chairman promised us.”
