A member of APC campaign committee in Lagos State and President /CEO of the Progressive Women and Youth Advocacy Organization and Cooperatives, Chief  Dr Mrs Vivian Obi has commended the  recent Supreme court ruling that brought Senator Hope Uzodimma of All Progressive Congress as the Governor of Imo State and tasked him to do everything that would promote peace and development of the state. She also advised the people to rally round his government in order to get the desired dividends of democracy.

What is your reaction on the recent Supreme Court judgment on Imo State?

The judgment, as  I see it, was constitutional  due to irregularities that brought in Ihedioha through INEC collation. To this end, I have to congratulate the incumbent Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma on his resounding victory at the Supreme Court. The verdict gave Imolites hope to keep pushing because God is not asleep in every efforts in ones life.

APC had no Assembly member in Imo State Legislative house, but more are defecting to the party, what does that tell you?

It is a welcome development. In fact, that is the best option for the onward  movement and progress of Imo State. Working together will make good policies and developments possible. As a politician, it is a dangerous game  for operating under the ruling party as an opposition. I am optimistic that more will defect to APC among the PDP, APGA and AA parties.

What would you say concerning the problem APC is having in Imo State?

I would say that the problem of APC in the state is not different from that in other states across the country. I would say it is like a family issue that will surely be settled amicably. Remember, there is no permanent friend and permanent enemy in politics. Rather interest of the party supersedes any other interest. Obviously, every political party has her own flaws. So, I am assuring you that the that thing people see as a problem among the APC members, is not all that too serious as as such.

Could you advise  the people of Imo State?

Imo people should support and key into the government  of Senator Hope Uzodimma for peaceful coexistence. I also urge them to support him in order to enjoy the dividend of democracy. They should bear in that they do not have any other state. Imo State is the only one they call our own. So, anything that would breach the long existing peace in the state should be jettisoned.

What do you expect Uzodimma to do most, especially at the beginning of his administration?

In fact, I want him to use the good opportunity God gave to him to promote peace and support entrepreneurial  skills  and purpose for the women and youths in the state. That will enrich self-reliance that will promote good governance. I wish him a successful tenure with great achievements.
